Monday, October 28th

Today, the Explorers painted paper bags that were stuffed to look like pumpkins.

There was a lot of teamwork going on with the Magna-Tiles this morning. Good job, friends!

Amelia and Celia were just hanging out on the steps to the slide, watching all the excitement on the playground.

Izzy, offered to push her friend, Crosby, on the swing. Nice bucket filling!

Logan and Weston were pretending to be pirate. Argh!

Amelia and Celia did some digging for rocks.

Logan, painting with watercolors to reveal the hidden leaf rubbing underneath.

More rock digging, from last week.

Logan built a ship with the big blocks. I told him it looks like an airplane!

Last week, we played in some spooky water!

The Explorers have been enjoying the Legos lately.

More teamwork, from last week.

October 21st

Last week, we made spooky bats using clothespins, coffee filters, googly eyes and black and purple paint and food coloring.

Today, we used scissors and practiced some fine motor skills. We worked on hold to properly hold a pair of scissors. A good trick to remind them is "thumbs up".

We had a generous donation from one of our families of gourds and cornstalks. The kids really enjoyed exploring the cornstalks on the playground, today.

Wednesday, October 9th

Yesterday, we worked together cutting up apples to make applesauce from the apple dropping we brought back from the apple orchard. Today we got to eat it and it was delicious!

Today, we did a little science experiment. We learned that when you put vinegar onto baking soda, it reacts with a fizzy. We also experimented with color mixing while doing this.
