Tuesday, October 12th

Wyatt, launching his truck up the ramp.

Wyatt, used a cup to fill his cement mixer up with sand.

Cora, was reading "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by memory to her friends during quiet time. Nice job!

We are finding some very beautiful leaves on our playground. This one caught my eye because of the dark colored lines that are running through it.

Today, we had a new friend join our Explorers classroom. Meet Frankie! Now we have two friends named Frankie in our class.

Today, we explored the new construction blocks that we got for our playground. They had fun stacking and building different creations.

Sebastian, running and playing with our new friend, Frankie.

Wyatt, used the dry erase markers to trace over his name. Nice work, Wyatt!

Cora, got busy with the Magna-Tiles on the board, this morning.

Frankie, used the magnetic shapes to make a flower and a sun. We talked about the names of the different shapes and what color they are.

Last week, we made pumpkin playdough. It was warm and smelled delightful, just like pumpkin pie!

We used our leftover apples to do some apple prints with paint on paper.

When they were stamped just right, you could see the star shape in the middle of the apple.

Some of the Explorers helped cut up the peeled apples for the applesauce. And then, we ate it with lunch!

Silas, filled up his tractor with a load of woodchips. He couldn't tell me the "secret" location it was being delivered to.

We used foam stickers to decorate fall leaves.

Friday, October 1st

Lila, using the Calico Critters during morning free choice.

Alice, Eleanor, and Frankie, worked together to build a track for the trains.

Sometimes, when our bodies are feeling really BIG in the classroom, we do Cosmic Kids Yoga to get our bodies under control so that we can be safe in the classroom.

Wyatt, enjoyed looking at a book during morning free choice.

Sebastian, spent a lot of time putting together this puzzle.

Towards the end, he got stuck and Lila came over to offer help. She said she has this puzzle at home and loves it!

So, they finished it together!

Yesterday, we were lucky enough to be outside when the train came through. How exciting!!

This morning, we used golf T's and wooden mallets and hammered them into pieces of foam. This was a great activity for building their fine motor skills and muscles.

Rainbow scratch paper was a free choice in the classroom, today. What a fun surprise when you start scratching away!

Sebastian, had a great idea using the board and stump. He made teeter-totter that they decided to walk up and down, instead of sitting on each side. This produced some pretty fantastic giggles :)

Afterwards, they used it as a ramp for the cars.

Tie-Dye Day!!!
