Tuesday, December 1st

With the warmer whether, today, the Explorers found fun ways to use the mud that they found on the playground. Harper, used it as paint with a stick as a paintbrush!

Mira, discovered the tiniest, spider on a crack in the tire. She and Liam watched it crawl around to see where it was headed.

Some of the Explorers had fun jumping and stomping in the mud hole by the mud kitchen.

Crosby, used a scooper to load up his dump truck with mud because he was making "mud pies".

The Explorers have been fascinated with the logs that we just added to our playground. They noticed that there are markings all over the logs. We talked about what they thought might be making the marks/holes and they thought it was from an ant, so we did some research and discovered that they are made by a Pine Bark Beetle. They are actually harmful to the trees, as they eventually kill it. We looked at a picture of the beetle and then they went on a beetle hunt.

Mira, watering the plants. She is the classroom gardener, this week.

It was great to see our friend Connor again. He made me a lovely rainbow using markers and a foam, heart sticker.

Crosby and Morgan took the giant wooden trucks for a spin around the classroom, today.

Margaret drew a picture and then was practicing to write her letter M. Nice work!

Marion said she was drawing a picture of her brother, Connor, when he was older and younger.

Harper S. and Ava made spatulas and pancakes using the tinker toys.

Our classroom jobs are in full swing! Each Explorer has the same job for a full week. They change on Mondays.
