Thursday, July 15th

Finally, some nice weather to splash around in. Today, we took out the sprinkler and filled up the kid sized pools. They love jumping and splashing around together.

Connor, exploring the way that the different sized blocks make the scale tip back and forth.

Explorers enjoyed free drawing on the white boards, this morning. Crosby made a sunshine!

Maisie, pretending the puddle is her boat, she used a piece of bark to "paddle" with.

Crosby, taking a rest in a tire. He found the perfect shady spot and enjoyed a little R&R.

Lewyn, is part monkey!

Dwyer, did a great job matching the lowercase scoops of ice cream to their uppercase matching dish.

\
Harper, said she was drawing a picture of her mom.

Lewyn, practicing writing her letters in the tray of sprinkles.

Thanks to all the donations, we were able to make some delicious smelling ice cream dough. It was so much fun to scoop, roll out, and cut with cookie cutters.

"Look Ms. Amy, it's a weathervane!"

Friday, July 9th

Connor, used construction paper, tape, scissors, and markers to create a princess. So much creativity happens when kids are given the materials and encouraged to use their imagination. Nice job, Connor!

Lewyn, helped outfit Harper, with all the jewelry and hair accessories from the beauty kit.

We added sprinkles to our "ice cream" playdough. It was so soft and the sprinkles made it look and smell like a delicious treat!

Crosby, and Marion, pretended to be chefs and baked a couple of amazing cakes!

Harper, is writing different letters in the tray of sprinkles. This is really great fine motor practice.

Ave, writing the letter "D".

The Explorers love to color, so we did color by shape ice cream cones. We identified shapes and colors while doing this activity.

We used the graham crackers (crushed up) as the cone, cotton balls as the ice cream, and then used a dropper to add the color to our "ice cream". This was a super fun activity!

Lewyn, picked a flower on her way to school and was very excited to share it with her friend, Marion <3

Friday, July 2nd

Harper and Margaret, were very proud of their unicorns that they drew. Nice work!

We are now doing everything ice cream style!

Finley, spent a lot of the morning writing letters and his name on the white boards.

Liam, said "Ms. Amy, this is an astronaut, and this is his helmet. He needs a helmet in outer space so that if things fall on him, it will protect him."

Mae, also, spent time this morning writing letters.

Dwyer, said "This is the letter F!" as he wrote it on the white board.

Marion and Crosby, pretended to be robots.

We made ice cream cones using a glue and shaving cream mixture. This make a puffy, 3D look on the paper. We even added sprinkles!

Crosby, was using the tools with the large wooden blocks. He was using them all in the correct way! It was very interesting to watch.

Mae and Harper, made a cave like in The Lion King. We listen to the book on tape often, it is a favorite in our class.

When we aren't using the sprinklers or the mud kitchen for water play, we fill up the little pools with water to play in. Another great way to cool down.

"Ms. Amy, the house is almost done, I just have to add a few more bricks."

Graham, made a "parrot" using the playdough and toys.

Marion, happily, built a train track all by herself and enjoyed playing with the trains.

Chef Mae, is cooking up some deliciousness, in the kitchen.

We have been building up fine motor skills with tracing worksheets. This helps them better write their letters.

Building creations and story time!
