Tuesday, September 28th

Cora and Greyson, played with the Calico Critters for most of morning free choice, today.

When it's a rainy day, we do some yoga, dancing and watch a quick episode of Super Why. We were able to "Shake our Sillies out" and have a great day!

Jacob and some other Explorers, enjoyed exploring the magnetic Tegu blocks. Jacob, watched as he pushed them close together and the magnetic force pull they all the way together. It was like magic!

Nora and Lucian, using the paint sticks to paint apples. During a typical year, we would go on our annual apple picking field trip and bring back apples to make apple sauce and enjoy some cider. This year, we are looking for families to donate fresh apples and cider so that we can still make our yummy apple sauce. If anyone would like to send some in that would be great!

Wyatt, used the tinker toys and made "medals" for when someone does a good job at something.

Cora, investigating the spooky bin of rice. She found skeleton hands, pumpkins, bugs, eyeballs, and much more.

Sebastian, used an orange paint stick to color a pumpkin.

Wyatt, had so much fun jumping and splashing in the puddle.

More rainy day dancing.

Odin, used the frozen characters and model magic dough to create a cave.

We start the Explorers off with Biggie Beads and work our way up to the regular size pealer beads once their pincher grasp is better.

Anya, being a great friend and pushing an Explorer friend on the swing.

There is the cave that Odin made.

Eleanor, worked really hard to build this very tall tower for her animals to have a house.

The water bin is always a fun morning free choice activity. Alice and Nora, used the different items to fill, measure, and dump the water.

Tuesday, September 21st

Cora and Lila, making "pizza" together in the mud kitchen.

Last week ,we started circle time. We talk about the month, day of the week, number of the day (then count that many days) and the year. We look outside and check the weather and read a story.

The fidgets have been a huge hit in our classroom.

This morning, we used some Fall colors to do some free painting. Some of our friends even mixed some colors to make new ones. We learned that red and yellow make orange!

Nora, enjoyed painting her hand and making hand prints on the paper.

A really great fine motor activity is stringing beads. We find it to be easier for this age to put them onto pipe cleaners and then we make them into bracelets.

I cannot believe we are almost in October already! We got out our spooky sensory bin materials and the Explorers that it was pretty funny!

First full week

Nora says "I'm working" as she pops away on the pop-it fidget.

Lots of scooping, pouring, and baking happening in the sandbox.

Sebastian, worked very hard to stack the tires as tall as he could.

We had fun painting with watercolor paints.

Anya, colored the rainbow!

Wyatt, too!

Alice and Cora, showing me that they can climb up the slide.

Odin, so proud of himself that he managed to climb up on top of the giant tire.

One of Greyson, Lucian and Jacob's favorite free choice time activities is the potato heads.

Cora, painting with the paint sticks.

Building with the Magna-Tiles on the light table.

Playtime and Storytime!

A muddy playground is a great place to find worms and Charlotte wasn't afraid to hold one! Sunshine, friends, swings and so many giggles...
