Week of November 9th-13th

We have enjoyed this warmer weather with lots of time on the playground. Friends had fun jumping, climbing and balancing, all over the place.

Liam did some problem solving on how to get on the swing by himself. he dragged over a tire and used it as a stepping stool to get himself up. Great job, Liam!

This week, we began to talk about Thanksgiving and the meaning behind it. We read a book called 'Thankful" By Eileen Spinelli, and then we made a list of what we were thankful for.

Morgan worked on sorting out all the Tinker Toys.

She used the green and yellow ones to make "spatulas".

We worked on making patters using our wooden pattern boards and beads.

Harper S. used the colored, translucent blocks on the light table and discovered that if she put two different colors together that she could make a new color!

T is for Thanksgiving and T is for Thankful. The Explorers used a variety of materials to make this project. They started out using a brown crayon or marker to color in the letter T. Then, they used scissors to cut our the letter T. After that, they used a glue stick to glue the letter T onto a piece of cardstock. They were asked to count out 5 feathers. They then glued on the feathers, two eyes, a beak and the wattle. We will hang these at school for a week or so and they will go home before Thanksgiving break.

Morgan, hard at work sorting, again.

Liam explored how to balance with this scale. We talked about which side was heavier and how to make them equal. He discovered which side he needed to place the items in to balance the sides out.
